Boxing is one of the five sports available for play in Wii Sports, New Wii Sports, Wah Sports, Wii Sports Club, and New Wii Sports Club, Switch Sports and Switch Sports Resort.
The objective of Boxing is to reduce your opponent's health meter and get a K.O. to win the match. In order to get a K.O. the player must weaken the opponent and then knock him/her on the ground. The opponent must stay on the ground for 10 seconds to win the round. The player has three rounds to accomplish this.
Gameplay involves holding the Wii Remote and Nunchuk (in Wii Sports and its spin-offs) or another Wii remote (in Wii Sports Club and its spin-offs) like boxing gloves and thrusting the controllers as if punching an opponent.

Tips[]
- Try to get a clear shot to the front, then come around the side.
- Move back and forth, and when your opponent's fist moves in slow motion, strike them.
- Try dodging. When you get a near miss, hit them in the head. (Works better for later level Miis)
- Dodge whenever you can so you don't get hit.
Training[]
There are three different training modes for this sport: Working the Bag, Dodging, and Throwing Punches.
Working the Bag[]
Working the Bag has the player punch punching bags in an attempt to knock as many bags off its chains as possible. Each bag comes one at a time and each has a health meter, and once the meter is depleted, then the bag comes off its chains.
- Bronze medal = 15
- Silver medal = 25
- Gold medal = 35
- Platinum medal = 40
Dodging[]
Dodging consists of the player dodging balls thrown at them by Matt. Each ball dodged by the player adds one point to their score, while hitting a ball subtract one point. If the player hits more balls than dodging balls, their score will be zero instead of a negative number.
- Bronze medal = 50
- Silver medal = 65
- Gold medal = 80
- Platinum medal = 85
Throwing Punches[]
In the game,Throwing Punches, the player punch target mitts held by Matt, as they try to hit the targets, while avoiding hitting Matt. Each mitt punched adds one point, while each time the player hits Matt, one point is deducted. If the player hits Matt more than the mitt, their score will be zero instead of a negative number.
- Bronze medal = 30
- Silver medal = 45
- Gold medal = 60
- Platinum medal = 70
Wii Sports Club[]
Boxing returns as a sport in Wii Sports Club with many changes. The outside of the ring has changed to seat more people and there are now assistants cheering for the playing beside the ring and before a new round starts, they give the Mii water and spray them. The outfits of the Miis have changed, Miis now wear boots, and now all Miis wear vests regardless of gender. The first CPU is Matt and Ursula (2) (for new male and female players, respectively, and the champion is Motak.
The transitions between rounds also changed. Instead of going straight to the next round, they'll show the three coaches shaking a bottle of water in front of the player, spraying the player with a spray can, etc. After that, a Mii with grey clothes will hold up a sign saying what round it is. They didn't have that in the original Wii Sports.
However, there's a slight difference between the vests depending on their gender:
- The male Mii vest has a low-cut top, revealing the upper chest a little bit.
- The female Mii vest has a round neckline, which completely covers their upper chest.

Trivia[]
- This was shown in the 2014 movie Boyhood, where Mason was staying with his stepfather.
- This was also shown in The Big Bang Theory (season 1, episode 15) when Leonard and Howard are seen playing together.
- There are select Miis who do not play Boxing in Wii Sports, but does so in Wii Sports Club, or vice versa.
- It’s officially unknown why not all females appear in this sport.
- There are only nine females that play boxing in Wii Sports.
- There seem to be no males in Wii Sports that don't play Boxing. This is because the list of Miis that don't play Boxing is full of females.
- Violence against women may have been the reason why Nintendo decided to remove 21 of the 30 female Miis.
- It is possible to get a draw in this sport, however it is extremely rare.
- The ways that a draw happens is if there's a double knockout or both players get the same score in the decision.
- In Wii Sports, after you defeat the champion, you will face random opponents.
- Unlike Wii Sports Boxing, you or the opponent can end up getting dizzy in Wii Sports Club Boxing after receiving a certain amount of punches. During this state, the guard is dropped and all the stunned boxer can do is dodge.
- The health meter also depletes with every hit you give your opponent in Wii Sports Club. In Wii Sports, your opponent needs a certain amount of hits for his or her health meter to deplete.
- The transitions between rounds also changed. Instead of going straight to the next round, they'll show the three coaches shaking a bottle of water in front of the player, spraying the player with a spray can, etc. After that, a Mii with grey clothes will hold up a sign saying what round it is. They didn't have that in the original Wii Sports.
- In Plate Smasher, you can see portraits of Pit, the boxing champion in Wii Sports Club at the start of the game.
- There are two Beginner CPUs in Wii Sports Club Boxing, Matt (Wii Sports Club) and Ursula (2). Male players who plays Boxing for the first time will first fight against Matt, whereas females doing the same will first fight against Ursula.
