Hello PhillipL. I'm here to inform you about an old editor you may have known. Unfortunately, Coop7579 is no longer with us. He wanted me to keep making minis. He also requested that his current created miis be completely revised.
Hi PhilippL. I approved your request, and I'm here to help.
After a quick look around, here are a few things I think might improve the main page.
Add a "Featured" section for each of the Mii types, such as Feature Best Mii, Featured Worst Mii, etc. On each section, you can display the picture of the Mii with a brief description of it that also links to the page. You could also add a sentence like "See more Best Miis" so the reader can see the whole list of that type of Mii.
Move the links section to the right column. A list of links doesn't use much horizontal space, so it would be a good fit for the currently unused right column.
Remove the slider. None of the slides link anywhere, and the few words that appear on it can be expressed at the top of the page in the welcome section.
Of course, if you have any ideas for a redesign of the main page, please share them with me. I'll make some edits to the page today and post a new comment after I've made those updates, so that you can take a look.
Take a look now. You may need to purge your browser cache (Ctrl+F5 or ⌘+F5 if you're using a Mac) to be sure you're seeing all the changes.
I edited MediaWiki:Common.css to import the Nunito font, which has rounded edges and looks similar to the official Mii font. I also set up the MainPageHeading CSS class to make it easy to add custom headings to the main page using that font. To add a new heading, copy & paste this:
Just replace "Title" with the title of the new section.
I also added the activity feed to the right column so that it wouldn't be empty.
For the Best/Worst Mii of the Week, notice that I inserted <br/> (a line break) after "Mii" to display the heading on two lines, because it's too long to fit on one line.
