Wii Sports Resort: Storm Island is a highly popular mod made for Wii Sports Resort created by JimmyKazakhstan and the Storm Island team.
The mod has seen many updates spanning across the years 2017 to 2023, with the latest update being Version X.
* This mod DOES NOT work on PAL Wii U consoles.[1]
Details[]
Storm Island is a mod for Wii Sports Resort, it gives Wuhu Island and every mini game minor to major overhauls, primarily in the music and texture departments. The mod requires Storm Island and Home Button Hotline Bling to be enabled at all times for the mod to work properly.

Issues[]
The game only allocates a certain amount of memory for golf, a few of the courses come extremely close to exceeding that amount. So the team was not able to port over every single tree that exists in the WSC version of the courses. Other issues include:
- "Heavy Rough" or any collision type similar to it does not exist in Wii Sports Resort, so it was changed to a regular rough.
- Due to how the intro cameras work, we were not able to recreate the original course intros from Wii Sports Club.
- We tried literally everything to fix the lag on Hole 7, sadly nothing can be done without breaking the collision
- The map display dimensions are hardcoded, so the position of hole 8's map couldn't be changed.

Issues with the mod[]
This mod is not perfect, in fact, I'm sure there is no mod for a video game that is entirely perfect with no flaws, and this is okay, but this section will list bugs that can happen while playing this mod.
- For some reason, the Lightsaber and Unused Archery features have conflicting coding, so if both features are active and you try to play archery, certain archery stages will cause the game to crash.
- All the location names seen in the results menu for Island Flyover have placeholder text, this issue is present in every update of the mod.
- Golf can be very messy if other features are enabled, as listed above, several golf settings can cause problems if they are active with other features, such problems include game crashes.
- Some songs that play in the mod will abruptly stop and quickly too, such as the song that plays when the game wants you to press A and B together, this song will only loop once and never again.
- Certain sports, such as Power Cruising do not have modified music and some games do not have modified textures and other material to represent the Wuhu Island overhaul.
Notes for YouTubers[]
In this section I will talk about things that might cause problems for YouTubers who want to play this mod and record it for uploading to their channels.
Copyrighted Music[]
Every single song in this game is copyrighted, with a few exceptions. Those being unmodified sound files or sound like SilvaGunna covers of the original game's soundtrack. Some alterations are included, such as the results theme of Frisbee Toss being the regular song (but with Snoop Dogg singing the line "Smoke weed everyday"). This mod features music by many artists, such as Kendrick Lamar (whose music is featured in many sports, even in other mods by JimmyKaz).
Copyrighted music cannot be disabled in the menus of the mod. So the best course of action is to deal with the copyright claims or mute the game/replace the audio manually in a audio program or video editing software.
Language[]
This mod will sometimes dirty and/or mild language, including swearing. One such use of this kind of language is in the Cycling sport, where your coach will sometimes swear, ranging from as mild as 'ass' to the f-word.
Another use of potentially problematic language is references to activities such as doing drugs. (As mentioned above, the Frisbee results theme features Snoop Dogg singing about smoking weed)
These problems primarily only matter to YouTubers who want to keep and preserve a child-friendly appearance.
New Miis[]
Relkinstein on Tommy's basketball team.
Certain Miis are replaced my characters based on people who worked on the mod and people who worked on RiiMajor, including Sir Relkinstein, Paniaal, AdamCrossing, JimmyKazakstan, Dvrk, and more. Some characters also replace other people in games, such as Kathrin being the Swordplay Duel champion.
- Paniaal is the basketball champion.
- Relkinstein can be seen on Tommy's Basketball team and in Speed Slice.
Trivia[]
- If only Storm Island and Hotline Bling are enabled, the menu music that plays will be a certain song, but when other features are enabled, the boot up song will be different.
- If Home Menu Hotline Bling is enabled, several Miis will be replaced with the Miis of certain team members, some Miis are also replaced with others, such as Kathrin replacing Matt as the Swordplay Duel champion, some examples of new Miis include AdamCrossing, Paniaal, and Sir Relkinstein. This can be seen in several games, certain appearances are listed below.
- Paniaal can be challenged in Basketball, his level is Aprox. 1000.
- AdamCrossing can also be battled in Basketball, he is a lower level than Paniaal.
- Paniaal, Adam, Sir Relkinstein, and Jimmy can be seen in Swordplay Showdown and Duel.
- Paniaal can be challenged in Basketball, his level is Aprox. 1000.
